I just couldn’t resist posting a little something about the hats worn at the royal wedding…. the good, the bad and the ugly! Which one is your favorite? And you can’t just pick David Beckham because he’s a hot!
A royal wedding supporter catching a quick pic.
Another couple of supporters of the royal wedding.
That looks like a DIY hat…and I kinda’ like it!
They clean up nice… not that he doesn’t
look too shabby in just jeans and a t-shirt!

Personally, I like the “Bobby Hat.”

I wish I could say that I woke up at 4 this morning to watch the royal wedding kick off…but I love my sleep way too much. I did, however, catch some of the highlights. So far my favorite part was Kate’s wedding dress.
She arrived at Westminster Abbey wearing a long-sleeved wedding dress with English and French Chantilly lace appliqué bodice, satin gazar pleated skirt and nine-foot train by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. Her bridal look included a full veil, a Cartier tiara borrowed from the Queen and a small bouquet of white blooms. Her hair was styled half-up, half-down.
News reports are comparing it to Grace Kelly’s dress. What do you think?

I don’t know if you read on Facebook, but I just signed a new bride…and the best part is that her color scheme is grey and yellow!!! I’ve been dying to do an invitation set in those colors! So, I thought I would do a little research on what’s already been done… I want to make sure she gets something fresh and new!
While I was searching, I found some spectacular invitations and thought I would share them with you!

Found this great post on The Inspired Bride blog…
“A look I can’t get enough of is a simple white dress (preferably something draping and Empire waisted) with a statement sash. I’m pulling some of my absolute favorite stunners together for you. I hope you enjoy the look as much as I do!”

For all you brides-to-be who like to be on top of things… you may want to hold off on buying the stamps for your wedding invitations! As of Sunday, April 17th, the rate of postage is going up.
So, here’s my advice…. If you’ve got your invitations ready to mail, go ahead and buy your stamps now. Just be sure to mail them out by this Saturday. If you’ve got a little while before your invites are ready to go out, HOLD OFF! No need to spend all that money on those pretty stamps only to find out that you’ve got to add a $.02 or $.01 stamp on to your envelope!
In case you were curious what new options are out there for you, here are some of the more common stamps that I buy for my brides…
The new standard postage for wedding invitations will be $.64.
Below are a couple options for you.

If you happen to be sending out a response postcard,
this is the only $.29 stamp that the Post Office offers.
If you happen to have an undersized or fairly light wedding invitation,
you can use one of these $.44 stamps.
I sometimes have brides that are not a fan of the
postcard postage who opt for these stamps as well.

As you’ve all come to realize at this point, I’m a huge fan of all things stationery! I suppose that was a no brainer! But let me tell you what one of my most favorite types of printing is…. Yep, you may have guessed it…Letterpress! For a long time I had longed to find a local vendor that not only used this technique, but did it beautifully…
Well, the search has ended! Let me introduce you to Event Crashers Letterpress! Jay Williamson is the talent behind the machine. In all honesty, I have not yet worked with him, but we’ve got a big job in the works for one of my September brides. Of course, his reputation precedes him! I’ve heard nothing but GREAT things about the work he produces. In fact, here are a couple samples for you to feast your eyes upon…
So, if you’re even considering letterpressed wedding invitations, you must contact Jay over at Event Crashers! You can email him at jay@eventcrashers.com! I promise, you won’t regret it!
